In the 1980s, Rainer Schnaitmann turned his back on architecture and decided to join the family’s 600-year heritage winemaking. After wine studies in Germany and abroad, his father leased him three hectares of vines and space in a small cellar for vinification. The rest is history.
Rainer Schnaitmann has built a name for itself as an innovative winery that had its roots firmly anchored in tradition. With its respect for the unique terroirs of its vineyards, Rainer Schnaitmann’s wines have won top awards, scores, and accolades across the international wine industry.
In 2006 Rainer Schnaitmann was welcomed into the VDP, the youngest estate at the time to be so honored.
