Wagner Stempel has been making wine for nine generations in the peaceful Siefersheim area. The winery is nestled among volcanic hills and heathland all offering the choice terroir that shows in their world-class wines.

Owners Cathrin and Daniel Wagner produce their cool-climate Rieslings, Burgunder varietals, and Silvaner in small manageable plots so that the story of the environment shines through with crystal clarity. Indeed, they describe their wines as “handcrafted”.

The result is a range of lean, acidic wines with salty, mineral expression. Cathrin and Daniel believe that Riesling above all other grapes possesses the transparency to express its terroir with laser-sharp authenticity. Half of their production is dedicated to this classic German grape.

Wagner Stemple joined the VDP in 2004 and produces 150,000 bottles annually.
