In 1907 Leopold von Winning tasked himself with the creation exceptional wines and extended this vision to the VDP of which he was a founding member. Today, a team led by Stephen Attmann carry on this tradition in their crafting of world-class wines.
Their secret is in their rediscovery of traditional German vinification. Wines ferment naturally in wooden barriques preserving phenols that add complexity and character to the Von Winning range. Wines and are bottled using gravity rather than pumps, a hands-off approach leads to distinguished wines that are a mirror image of the rich terroir surrounding the winery.
Most of Von Winning’s cultivation focuses on Riesling supported by a selection of other varietals. Annual bottle production is 380,000.
