Unshaken by trends and new wine styles, the vision of Christmann estate is to concentrate on the excellence its rich terroirs can produce. Working in the Pfalz region where some of the world’s best dry Rieslings and Burgunders are produced, owner Steffen Christmann is committed to capturing “place” in every bottle of wine.
To this end, Christmann implements biodynamic practices in its vineyards, teasing out the distinct personality of each site for wines full of character. In the winery, it matches state-of-the-art production methods with tradition.
Christmann mainstay grape is Riesling and it also cultivates Spätburgunder, Weissburgunder, Grauburgunder and Muskateller. The winery joined the VDP in 1994 and produces 160,000 bottles a year.
