A family affair for more than 200 years, Schäfer-Fröhlich is situated on the sunny, steep, rocky slopes of the Middle Nahe.

There is one objective here: for their Rieslings to mirror their terroir with laser precision. To this end, the family works with tailormade methods in each of their vineyards to tease out the unique characteristics that shine through in the finished wine. At harvest, grapes are hand selected and, in the winery, wines ferment spontaneously taking all the time they need. There are no rush jobs at Schäfer-Fröhlich.

This dedication has paid off with both international accolades and recognition of their wines by German wine guides as “world class”.

A VDP member since 2001, Schäfer-Fröhlich produces 120,000 bottles annually covering Rielsing and Burgundy varietals.
