A family winery now in its fifth generation, the Peter Lauer estate has a simple philosophy: “bringing the landscape into the bottle”.

They focus 100% on Riesling in their sloping, slate-rich Mosel vineyards and the aim is to go deep and help the grape express a wide variety of flavors. Among the vines, natural, eco-friendly practices guide the way. At harvest time, grapes are picked late and hand selected. In the winery, Peter Lauer’s range matures in wooden barrels where they ferment spontaneously.

In the future, family team Florian and Peter Lauer intend to define their terroir with even more depth and precision. It is all part of their philosophy.

Peter Lauer joined the VDP in 2013 and produces 45,000 to 60,000 bottles of Riesling a year.
