Proud to produce ‘brutally honest wines’, Rudolf May has had winemaking in the family for three centuries. In 1998, they opened their own winery. Their vision was to bring Silvaner to new heights convinced that the Franken wine region offered the ideal environment for the varietal.
To this end, they grow the highest quality grapes within the framework of organic viticulture. Rudolf May’s wines reflect the rich soils that produce dry, origin-focused wines which have gained followers around the world.
Rudolf joined the VDP in 2014 and produces 80,000 bottles annually with a focus on Silvaner, Riesling, Grau-, Weiss- and Spätburgunder.
