Uncompromising on quality yet open-minded to new ideas that lead to expressive, distinguished wines; these are the foundations of Heger winery.
Owner Joachim Heger works side-by-side a talented team in both the vineyard and the winery. Together they cultivate and vinify fruit from Ihringer Winklerberg, the warmest vineyard plot in Germany. A unique microclimate, low yields, and an intricately distinctive terroir make wines of “Grand Cru” status, wines that let their origin speak. Wines are aged 16 months in barriques for deeper refinement of each vintage.
Heger joined the VDP in 1986 and produces 120,000 bottles a year. Its main varietals are Spät-, Grau- and Weissburgunder, Riesling and Silvaner.
